St. Andrew's Church has been the centre in Grimsby of a lively, forward-looking Christian community since 1794 - over 200 years.

We are a growing community of faith within the quickly growing town of Grimsby. We are united in our faith in Jesus Christ.

We love to welcome new people and invite everyone to come to St. Andrew's to see for themselves what we are about. If there is anything that interests you or if you have questions don't hesitate to contact us or have a word with a member of the congregation or clergy on a Sunday.

Music and singing is a way to worship God and to open ourselves to experience God in worship. Led by Music Director and Organist, Tom Naylor, our Choir is composed of a dedicated group of volunteers who practise in the church every Thursday at 7:30pm and who lead the music at our 10:00am service each Sunday as well as other Festivals and special services.

St. Andrew’s Church is home to a wonderful pipe organ built in 1994 by Casavant Frères Ltée of St-Hyacinthe, Québec as part of the parish’s Bi-centennial Celebration. Opus 3727 was dedicated October 2, 1994 with St. Catharines virtuoso, Andrew Henderson playing the dedicatory recital.

The action is pitman-type, electro- pneumatic. The console is detached and movable for concerts and other functions. All woodwork is oak. The stops and couplers are controlled by rosewood tilting tablets. The manual natural keys are of ebony and the manual sharps are of rosewood with bone caps. The pedal board naturals are of maple and the sharps of rosewood.

The parish of St. Andrew’s has been a part of Grimsby since its founding in 1794. Andrew Pettit, a United Empire Loyalist, came to Canada in 1787, receiving a grant of land in Grimsby from the Crown. A devoted churchman, Pettit initially led services in his home until the first log church was built in 1794 on land donated by Col. Robert Nelles. The log church was replaced with a frame church in 1804 and the existing church was built in 1819, the year of Andrew Pettit’s death. It is in his honour that the parish is named.
