Confirmationst. andrew's confirmation cross

Confirmation is the rite whereby a person renews the promises which were usually made for them in baptism by their parents and Godparents. Through confirmation the Holy Spirit strengthens the person to serve Christ more fully in their lives. We pray for this strenghthening as the Bishop lays his hand upon each person at the Confirmation service.

This year (2007) our confirmation service will be held at Christ's Church Cathedral on Sunday, February 25th at 3 P.M. Parents, Godparents and other important people in the life of the Confirmand are encouraged to attend. There is a practice for the confirmation candidates and their clergy starting at 2 P.M. at the Cathedral.

Classes start Sunday, Jan 21st and continue each Sunday until the confirmation (except for vestry Sunday, January 25th.) They begin after the 10 A.M. service and members are asked to bring a packed lunch. Class will be aproximatly from 11;45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Classes include:

  • An Instructed Eucharist
  • Anglican History
  • Prayer & Spirituality
  • Baptism & Confirmation
  • The Wider Church.

The class is designed for adults, though some older teens are attending as well. Please let us know a.s.a.p. if you are coming by emailing Stuart.
