‘Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs’ - Matthew 19:13-22

The Children’s Ministry exists at St. Andrew’s because we believe that the kingdom of heaven belongs to them. We know that the children are our present church and future faith leaders.

Infants through to 3 year olds can enjoy our nursery during the ten o’clock service, all year, if parents wish. Two capable, caring persons are on duty to keep little ones safe and happy.

Children in JK through to Grade 6 are invited to our Sunday School Service also during our 10am service from September through to early June. Come to hear bible stories one Sunday a month, take part in a monthly family service by reading the gospel, leading the prayers, being sides persons and bringing forward the gifts. The other Sundays teachers use a curriculum recommended by the diocese to help the children know more about their church and how to follow Jesus. When they sing together as a choir, the sound is heaven sent.

The Youth Group meet once per month for open discussion with Rev. Max and on special occasions take part in youth involved service. Fun events are also organized as part of the groups socializing.

Formal teaching may end in June but for one week in the summer St. Andrew’s is alive with children from our parish and surrounding community as volunteers lead them through a Vacation Bible School. It is a busy and fun time! More than one child has shared that they didn’t know who Jesus was before VBS, so the volunteers know that the week is well spent, and that one more ‘little child has come to Him’.

Baptism is our rite of initiation into the Christian community and membership in God's family in Christ.

It is the most important faith step

that anyone can make!

Any person who is interested in becoming a full member of the parish and wishes to celebrate and mark that decision through baptism is welcome to do so here after preparation with our Rector, Max. You are welcome here. Parents who want to be full members of St. Andrew's and wish their children to be baptized are welcome to prepare themselves and their children for this faith decision.
