Sunday School

Matthew 19:13-22 ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs’ At St Andrew’s we believe this & know that the children are our Future Church so Sunday School & Tween/Teen Group are very important. Gail McKittrick, our Story Teller & Arline Palmer, Children’s Ministry Coordinator, together co-coordinate Sunday School. From September to June, teachers each do one three month term. The children, aged 4 to 11 years, enjoy learning of God’s Love through Stories, Drama, Crafts, Computer & DVD’s. The grade 6 to 9’s meet monthly where their ideas are incorporated into a discussion about making their Faith part of daily life. Each month at Family Service the children & youth do the readings & Prayers, act as Sides Persons also bring forward the Bread & Wine. We are Blessed with having Kathy Gartshore as Junior Choir Director & at family Service the St Andrew’s Junior Choir comprised of members age 4 to 14 sing sweetly. The Nursery has one adult & a teen volunteer, twelve months of the year at 10AM Service, there infants & pre schoolers are lovingly cared for. The 3 year olds can take advantage of a Pre Sunday School Program & so learn about Jesus in a small group setting. Summer for one week is alive with children from St Andrew’s & surrounding community as volunteers lead them through a Vacation Bible School. It is a busy fun time & more than one child has shared that they didn’t know who Jesus was before VBS, so the volunteers know that the week is well spent & that one more ‘little child has come to Him’.
