There are so many ways you can give back to your church and your community. How can you contribute? Even helping in a small way can make a big impact....
If you wish to have your local charity or organization represented here, please contact our webmaster:
Corporation
St. Andrew's Corporation is the legal, executive governing body of the Church. The corporation consists of the Rector, the People's Warden and the Rector's Warden. It is up to the Corporation to make final decisions on behalf of the Parish.
The People's Warden is elected at our annual Vestry Meeting (Annual General Meeting). The Rector's Warden is appointed by the Rector.
Parish Council
Parish Council comprises the chairs of all committees as well as our synod delegates, church wardens, treasurer and clergy. In addition there are some members-at-large who are either elected by vestry or appointed by the rector.
Parish Council assists with the smooth operation of the parish and assumes joint responsibility for the running of the parish with the rector.
Our Parish Council meets every month, except July and August, and is chaired by John Edwards.
Outreach
St. Andrew's Outreach Committee exists to support people within and outside of the Parish and helps us to look beyond our own needs and concerns.
Our mandate is: “To coordinate and provide support initiatives for outreach to those in need both within and outside of the Parish.” We welcome all those who in living out their faith have a passion for helping others, forming partnerships and empowering others to help themselves.
The committee is chaired by Lystra Henry.
Christian Education
Our Christian Education committee works hard to provide a wide range of opportunities for education in the parish. Their mandate is: To offer to all people the opportunity to grow in knowledge and faith. We do this by offering or supporting:
Gifts of Bibles
Bible stories to candidates for baptism and confirmation
Bible Studies
Faith Studies
Workshops
Retreats
Maintaining both the library and literature rack in the Parish Hall
This Committee is chaired by the Rev. Paul Whitehouse.
Finance
St. Andrew's Finance Committee, chaired by Sean Straughan, has the valuable task of keeping track of our finances and investments. They are committed to transparency in reporting and keeping us up to date with our financial reality.
Property
The Property Committee is co-chaired by Tom Medcalf and Peter Zulauf and has a loyal committee of volunteers to ensure the upkeep of our church, hall, rectory and grounds.
Their mandate is as follows:
1. To maintain the church, parish hall, rectory and rental properties.
2. To ensure the boilers, fire alarms and fire extinguishers are checked regularly.
3. To ensure that the office equipment is operational.
4. Snow removal and sanding of our parking lot.
5. Yard work in conjunction with Cemetery Board.
6. Gardens around the Parish Hall and Church are planted and looked after by volunteers. (Flowers are paid for by the Cemetery Board.)
7. To obtain quotes for jobs over $500 when possible.
Parish Life
The mandate of the Parish Life Committee is a large one:
1. Planning and coordination of menus, shopping, decorating, crews for setting up and cleaning up including kitchen crews for preparation of food for the following parish functions:
Palm Sunday (usually a parish breakfast or lunch)
Parish Picnic & B.B.Q.
Providing punch on the lawn for Sundays during the summer.
Advent Sunday (usually a parish breakfast or dinner)
Refreshments for our Annual Vestry Meeting in January.
Plus any other special event or reception throughout the year.
Sherry Malboeuf is chair of our Parish Life committee.
Cemetery Board
Our Cemetery Board, chaired by Mark Young, oversees the finances, investments for perpetual care and of course the maintenance of the cemetery. They also develop policy and procedure in keeping with the guidelines from the Province.
We no longer have full burial plots for sale, but we do have cremation plots. For more information please speak to Mark Young or contact the Church office.

Altar Guild
St. Andrew's Altar guild has the important task of preparing all aspects of our worship space. The leaders of the guild are Helen Neal and Flo Arkell and they guide a dedicated team of volunteers who work hard each week to polish the brass, ensure there are fresh flowers at the altar, prepare the bread, wine and silverware for the communion service, look after the linens and do a number of other tasks.
The Altar Guild welcomes new members who want to help with this important ministry. If you are interested in joining this group or would like further information, please speak with either Helen or Flo, or contact the Church Office.

Servers
Servers of all ages, starting from about 10 years old, assist the clergy during our services. They carry the cross and torches during processions, assist in preparing the Altar for communion and help direct the congregation to the Altar during communion. Servers help make our worship a holy event.
We are always willing to welcome new people into this ministry. If you are interested please get in touch with the Church Office or speak to one of the clergy after Sunday worship.
A.C.W.
All women of the church belong to The Anglican Church Women (A.C.W.). Meetings are arranged from time to time, and usually include a dinner. The president is Jill Laycock.
The A.C.W. do enormous amounts of work to organize events, assist with needs in the parish, and raise funds which are distributed to worthy causes. The A.C.W. is always looking for volunteers of all kinds. Whatever your skill is, it will be useful. You will find the A.C.W. to be a wonderful social group as well as a work group. For more information, please get in touch with Jill Laycock or a member of the A.C.W.
Choir
Our Choir is a dedicated group of volunteers who practice every week on Thursday evenings at 7:30pm in the church and again on Sunday morning before the 10:00am service. Led by our Organist and Choir Director, Tom Naylor, a lot of practice and singing is mixed with lots of fun.
We all believe that music and singing is a way to worship God and to open ourselves up to experience God in worship. We welcome new voices to add to our number. If you are interested in joining the choir please speak to Tom Naylor or contact the Church office.
Mothers’ Union
The Mothers’ Union is a Christian organization with more than 3.6 million members in 76 countries, which promotes the well being of families worldwide. Virginia Cummings is the Enrolling Member at St. Andrew’s.
